Axent Transforms VMS Technology and Wins Major Brisbane Contract! (14/12/2009)
Axent has won a major Brisbane contract supplying a brand new VMS (variable message system) display technology revolutionising road traffic management systems. This revolutionary display is new to worldwide markets, and Brisbane City Council will be the first to utilise this latest state-of-the-art VMS to transform their roads. Axent will be rolling the system across the greater Brisbane metropolitan road network over the next 6 months and beyond.

Axent General Manager, Peter Cestnik shows us a sneak peek of the BCC signs above.
The new VMS Display is the most sophisticated technology in the world, and offers a much greater range of capabilities than the current VMS Displays on the road. This means no more hard to read messages or graphics. The new Axent VMS Display has taken VMS signs to the next level with far enhanced clarity and legibility .
Axent General Manager Peter Cestnik said that “.... the tender process was lengthy , exhaustive and detailed, but in the end the Axent product was a very worthy winner, and we look forward to implementing our quality product across Brisbane. This system will be a benchmark product and will make existing products pale into insignificance, and to be honest, I am not sure why some of Australia’s newest motorways have not seen the limelight like the Brisbane City Council and provide the best products available for motorists at prices less than the older products. It’s a win win for the BCC, Axent and Brisbane motorists, and we look forward to working with the BCC over the next few years. Axent is excited about winning this project......”
Axent engineers have worked with Brisbane City Council to develop a product that meets all the requirements, and IT specialists have developed state of the art programming capabilities to perform functions that were previously impossible to create for older version VMS Displays.
Axent is distributing this product across Australia in order to bring the country’s road sign technology up to worldwide standards and increase road safety awareness. Axent is proud to be a bench mark in innovation, quality, and technology.
